Slovenian Handball Federation and Solidsport launch long-term partnership to digitize the entire sport

The Slovenian Handball Federation (RZS) and Solidsport have announced a groundbreaking long-term partnership to bring the entire Slovenian handball ecosystem – from elite leagues to grassroots – into the digital era.

Ljubljana / Stockholm, June 2025 – As part of this strategic collaboration, a new custom-built OTT platform, RZS TV, will be launched to stream every match live and on demand. The goal is clear: to modernize how handball is experienced and unlock new commercial opportunities through pay-per-view, subscriptions, and digital sponsorships.

A pioneering digital leap for Slovenian handball

By becoming the first sports federation in Slovenia to digitize an entire sport from top to bottom, RZS is taking a major step forward. The agreement covers the Men’s 1st Division (Liga NLB), 2nd and 3rd Divisions, Women’s 1st and 2nd Divisions, the domestic cup, as well as all youth leagues and national youth championships.

“This partnership marks a major step forward in our mission to modernize and grow Slovenian handball,” says Miha Pantelič, Secretary General of the Slovenian Handball Federation.

“By embracing new technology and building a digital foundation for the future, we’re creating long-term value for our entire handball community – from the youngest youth players to our top national leagues. We’re excited to set a new benchmark not just for handball, but for sport in Slovenia as a whole.”

Slovenian handball will also become part of a growing international network on Solidsport, alongside federations in Sweden and Finland, as well as several regional federations in Germany.

“It’s inspiring to stand alongside other leading handball nations in Europe. Joining this network allows us to learn, grow, and raise the profile of Slovenian handball far beyond our borders.”

Solidsport’s proven model expands to Slovenia

For Solidsport, this marks its first strategic partnership in Slovenia and further strengthens its position as a leading sports streaming provider for federations across Europe.

With a unique top-to-bottom partnership model, Solidsport works with hundreds of leagues and clubs and has already generated more than €20 million in streaming revenue for its partners, with over 100,000 paid streams produced annually.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with the Slovenian Handball Federation,” says Joachim Gabrielsson, International Partnership Manager at Solidsport.

“Solidsport has become the go-to platform for federations looking to build sustainable digital models across all levels of sport. With proven success across Europe, we’re excited to bring this model to Slovenia and support RZS in transforming how handball is streamed, monetized, and experienced.”

A complete digital ecosystem

As part of the partnership, RZS TV will offer live and on-demand broadcasts, match statistics, and personalized user experiences.

A custom mobile app will also be launched during the 2025/26 season, featuring casting to smart TVs, push notifications, live scores, and tailored content based on fans’ favorite teams and leagues.

A major joint investment with AI production leader Spiideo will ensure full-scale coverage of Slovenian handball. As part of the agreement, Spiideo's AI cameras will be installed in all national handball venues during the upcoming season, enabling high-quality, automated productions of every match.

“Our ambition has always been to make every game visible, regardless of level or location,” says Gabrielsson.

“With Spiideo, we will secure not only full national coverage but also the highest production quality through their market-leading AI technology. This is a crucial step in delivering a consistent and professional broadcast experience across all levels of Slovenian handball.”

The rollout of RZS TV and all related technology will begin in summer 2025, with the full launch aligned with the start of the 2025/26 season.
