HJK Helsinki extends long-term partnership with Solidsport to strengthen its media rights strategy

Finland’s largest and most successful football club, HJK Helsinki, continues to develop its media rights strategy through Solidsport’s all-in-one solution.

The club has extended its long-standing partnership with Solidsport, reinforcing a shared ambition to deliver high-quality, club-controlled broadcasting. The new long-term agreement ensures that Solidsport remains the exclusive OTT partner for HJK TV, while also managing production and supporting the commercial strategy around media rights.

Full control and strategic collaboration

As part of the partnership, Solidsport leads the bidding process for HJK’s streaming rights and provides full operational support for all broadcasts related to UEFA competitions. All offers and rights negotiations are handled jointly, ensuring transparency, alignment, and optimal outcomes for the club.

“We’ve been extremely satisfied with our cooperation with Solidsport, so it’s only natural to strengthen our partnership further,” says Juho Hirvonen, Director of Communications and Marketing at HJK.

“Solidsport brings us professional expertise and additional support to help us continue developing our TV productions, especially around European matches.”

Technology, expertise, and networks that unlock value

Solidsport’s all-in-one model enables sports organizations to simplify and centralize their broadcasting operations under one trusted partner – covering production, distribution, monetization, and rights management.

For HJK, this approach has not only enhanced production quality and the overall fan experience, but also increased control over the club’s media presence both in Finland and internationally.

Beyond technical delivery, Solidsport plays a strategic role in helping rights holders such as clubs, federations, and leagues maximize the commercial value of their media rights. Through a combination of technology, industry expertise, and a broad partner network, organizations can unlock new revenue streams and grow their brand on their own terms.

“HJK is one of the most ambitious clubs in the Nordics when it comes to live sports broadcasting, and we’re proud to support their vision,” says Johan Lundqvist, CEO of Solidsport.

“This extended partnership is a strong example of how our model helps clubs take full control of their media rights and maximize commercial value, while delivering high-quality productions to fans at every level – from European competitions to youth development.”

A growing shift in sports media

The extended partnership reflects a broader shift in the sports industry toward club-owned media strategies – giving rights holders greater control, long-term sustainability, and direct access to their audience.
